Take Live Self Happy With You: My Travel Guides Are Now On GPSmyCity
I have an exciting announcement. Some of my Live Self Happy travel articles are now on GPSmyCity!
Have you ever read a travel article, made notes, and then forgotten where you put them? I have.
When I plan a trip, I save screenshots and Instagram posts, Google Maps pins, notes on my phone and in my notebook, and have a million browser tabs open. It can get disorganized pretty quickly.
This is why I’m happy you can now take my travel guides with you through the GPSmyCity app. Instead of reading and taking notes beforehand, you can download my guides to your phone and use them when you are exploring. If you upgrade your GPSmyCity, you can turn the guides into self-guided walking tours with navigation between the destinations.
To celebrate this new collaboration, we are giving away 3 of my articles upgraded to the full version completely free of charge for two weeks starting on Monday, September 21, 2026.
Disclaimer: If you purchase through one of my links, I may earn a small commission—at no extra cost to you. This helps me run this site, and I’m thankful. Visit my disclosure for more info.
What is GPSmyCity?
GPSmyCity is a travel app with travel tips and self-guided tours by travel writers around the world.
The articles on GPSmyCity are downloaded so you can access them offline. This means you don’t have to worry about using up your international data or having a poor connection.
The upgraded version of GPSmyCity takes your offline access a step further. Locations mentioned in the article are plotted on an interactive map, allowing you to navigate between them easily. Instead of bouncing between a blog post and Google Maps, you can access everything in the GPSmyCity app.
Why I Like Self-Guided Walking Tours
I am all about exploring as independently as you can. I love wandering at my own pace. I am easily distracted by a delicious smell, a fun-looking shop, or an interesting alleyway full of art. On a group tour, I don’t have the freedom to explore these things, but on a self-guided tour, I do.
A self-guided tour lets me spend 20 minutes at a destination I like and 2 minutes at another I don’t. I can abandon the whole thing midway to get a drink or meal, and there is no pressure about when I need to restart. The route doesn’t need to be followed exactly. There are no rules!
GPSmyCity turns the places I mentioned in the blog post into a map with navigation.
Instead of reading one of my guides and taking notes about the restaurants, bars and interesting stops along the way, you can open it on GPSmyCity and let it map the route for you.
