I went to the Philippines for pristine beaches, exciting jungles, delicious food, and to visit another of the world’s megacities, Manila.
The Philippines has much to offer tourists. I visited El Nido for it’s backpacker vibe and island hopping tours. There I got to enjoy the beach life I have ben searching for since Thailand. Clean sand, palm trees, warm water, and all of it free or everyone to enjoy. The beaches of El Nido are not locked behind a resort paywall.
In Coron there was more island hoping, snorkeling over shipwrecks and good food and wonderful people. Cebu City brought big city nightlife and lechon, don’t miss the lechon! Bohol was more developed and that infrastructure brought out the good and the bad things associated with mass tourism.
